Angelica Orosco is new to competitive dance, but the The University of Texas at Austin freshman has already competed in three events this Fall, and is headed for the 2022 Country Dance World Championships in January 2022. North Texas Dance Scholarship Fund sponsored her participation in the 2021 Dallas Dance Festival.

As a high school freshman, Clayton entered Country dancesport with no prior dance experience and unique physical challenges. With patient coaching and supportive family and friends, he improved each year and continues to compete as a student at the University of Oklahoma. He finished 2021 dancing at the ACDA National Championships in Dallas.

Dillon and Leslie were partners while students at Southern Methodist University, but missed opportunities to compete in 2020 because of COVID. They partnered again to dance at the 2021 Southwest Invitational Dancesport Classic. NTX Dance was proud to sponsor their participation in the event.

Anthony began dancing in high school and continued his hobby with the Texas Ballroom at the University of Texas. The junior Computer Science major was awarded a scholarship in support of his effort at the Country Dance World Championship in January. He placed 1st in ProAm Male Open Novice and 3rd in Couples Open III.

North Texas Dance Scholarship Fund awarded Emily a scholarship in support of her participation at the 2020 Country Dance World Championships. She placed 1st in ProAm Female Open Intermediate, and 2nd in Couples Open II. A first-year medical student at the University of Texas, Emily danced in multiple Ballroom and Country events through 2019.

For Mitchell, 2019 included eight Ballroom and Country events. He placed 1st in Couples and 2nd in ProAm at the Country Dance World Championships in January. Mitchell is in his second year at the University of Texas majoring in International Relations, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Sanmit is a Computer Science graduate student at the University of Texas in Austin. North Texas Dance Scholarship Fund supported Sanmit’s trip to the 2020 Country Dance World Championships in Nashville where he finished 3rd in ProAm Male Open Intermediate and 4th in Couples Open Division II. He’s a regular competitor on the ACDA and UCWDC dance circuits.
